In a move that has sent ripples through the nation, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was officially confirmed as the new secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) during a ceremony in the District of Columbia. The appointment, which comes at a critical juncture for American public health, is seen by many as a potentially transformative step in addressing the nation’s growing health crises.
Kennedy has vowed to expose and combat what he calls the “deeply rooted corruption” within the American healthcare system. The U.S., once a beacon of health and opportunity, now faces an alarming array of health issues.
According to recent statistics, 40 percent of Americans are obese, 60 percent have a chronic illness and 50 percent will deal with mental health issues at some point in their lives. The U.S. has the lowest life expectancy among developed nations, and fertility rate is at its lowest in over a century.
Kennedy’s appointment is buoyed by a new documentary, “Unpacking the Lies We’ve Been Fed,” which was released on Feb. 17. The film asserts that the U.S. healthcare system has been manipulated by “invisible rulers” to serve the interests of Big Pharma. It also claims that both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been co-opted by the pharmaceutical industry, leading to the approval of drugs and vaccines with severe adverse effects.
“We have agencies of the government that have complete control over areas of regulation,” Kennedy asserted in the documentary. “And these agencies have been captured by the industries they are supposed to regulate.”
The film also criticizes the CDC’s recommendation that all babies receive three COVID-19 shots by the age of nine months, labeling it “insane” and part of a broader agenda to “monetize and prolong suffering.”
Kennedy being confirmed as the new HHS secretary marks a significant milestone for health freedom advocates. Known for his long-standing criticism of pharmaceutical and vaccine policies, Kennedy’s appointment is the result of a decades-long grassroots effort by a coalition of health advocates, scientists and concerned citizens.
The newly confirmed secretary has pledged to bring sweeping reforms to the FDA and CDC, focusing on transparency, accountability and the reevaluation of current health policies. Key areas for reform include ensuring transparency in the FDA’s decision-making processes, challenging censorship of health information, and reexamining the safety and efficacy of vaccines and pharmaceuticals.
The confirmation, which passed with a 52 to 48 vote, was contentious, with significant opposition from Democrats and some Republicans.
Critics, including Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), questioned Kennedy’s past anti-vaccine stance and his eligibility to lead the nation’s largest health agency. Despite this, supporters led by figures like the Health Ranger Mike Adams celebrated the appointment as a victory for health sovereignty and transparency.
President Donald Trump also signed an executive order creating the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission, chaired by Kennedy. The commission will investigate the causes of the rise in chronic illnesses and develop an action plan to address them. (Related: Trump establishes new commission to tackle chronic disease epidemic.)
Kennedy’s goal is to end the childhood chronic disease epidemic, a critical issue highlighted by a Department of Defense study showing that 77 percent of young Americans are unfit for military service due to health problems. His vision for his tenure as HHS secretary is clear: expose the corruption, purge toxins from the food and water supply and end vaccine initiatives that he believes have harmed countless children.
“Make America Healthy Again” is not just a slogan; it is a movement that Kennedy hopes will rally the American public to demand transparency and accountability. As Kennedy takes the helm of the HHS, the nation watches with a mix of hope and skepticism.
