As people in the U.S. and elsewhere are increasingly shunning COVID-19 boosters, Brazil has started pushing repeated jabs on children and imposing financial penalties on those who are unwilling to comply.
This week, the government-owned news agency Agencia Brasil announced that the country is officially adding COVID-19 shots to its National Immunization Program. This means that children aged six months to five years will be required to get the jab every year starting in 2024.
Those who do not want to subject their children to the vaccine’s dangers will no longer be eligible to receive welfare payments. This includes the popular “Bolsa Familia” family program that many Brazilians depend on to feed their families. The same is true for those who do not get the other 13 vaccines that are part of the schedule.
Meanwhile, another proposed bill could mean that parents who refuse to vaccinate their children with any one of the country’s required childhood vaccines could end up behind bars.
A scientist and journalist who lives in Brazil, Dr. Simon Goddek, wrote on X: “Families not complying face hefty fines, loss of social aids like ‘Bolsa Família,’ or worse, having their children taken away.”
He added: “This, dear followers, is the hallmark of authoritarian communist regimes. While voicing the full extent of my concerns could land me behind bars in Brazil, it’s clear that politicians like Lula prioritize lining their pockets over safeguarding our young ones.”
The move was first announced by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva earlier this year, who said it was a “question of science.”
“If I have to do ten, fifty COVID vaccinations, I’ll do as many as I have to because I like my life,” Lula stated. “I think everyone has to like their children’s lives and get their children vaccinated at the right age.”
This change to the vaccine schedule means parents will now be faced with the tough decision of whether to accept the vaccine’s risks or potentially lose their welfare benefits. The vaccines have been linked to a range of very serious side effects, and children around the world have died as a result of them.
COVID-19 vaccines have been linked to numerous negative effects in people of all ages, ranging from allergic reactions and heart problems to death. However, young men were especially vulnerable to one side effect in particular, myocarditis, a condition in which heart tissue becomes inflamed. Scientists recently found that the problem stems from a generalized response to the vaccine.
There have been numerous reports of children suffering from heart attacks and/or dying suddenly after getting the jab, including a 3-year-old girl who died of a heart attack the day after getting vaccinated as a kindergarten entry requirement in Argentina. Although a firm cause-and-effect relationship has not been established in many deaths of young people following vaccination, it is still a worrying phenomenon that has prompted many parents to believe the shot is not worth the risk.
In addition, one recent study carried out by the FDA found that children aged 2 to 5 who received the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA COVID-19 vaccines had a higher risk of seizure after getting jabbed.
With data showing the death rate of children who do contract the COVID-19 virus is as low as 0.00 to 0.01 percent and many children already having natural immunity to it thanks to recent infection, parents are increasingly choosing not to vaccinate their kids against the virus.
