Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo called for a halt in the use of Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines following the discovery of potentially carcinogenic DNA contaminants. Ladapo’s office revealed the dangers that come with the COVID-19 injections on Jan. 3.
On Jan. 12, Ladapo appeared on the Epoch TV program “American Thought Leaders” to expound on his call. The surgeon general told program host Jan Jekielek that while many safety concerns about the COVID-19 injections have been brought up, the recent discovery is “beyond the pale.”
According to Ladapo, DNA can be used to produce different drugs like insulin and other biologics. He added that human cells are resistant to foreign DNA entry – which is necessary as it protects the DNA inside the cells.
However, the lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) used in the COVID-19 injections, which deliver mRNA directly into the cells, could facilitate the entry of DNA contaminants. Ladapo and other scientists have expressed concern that the DNA from the vaccine may integrate with the human genome.
In particular, the surgeon general focused on simian virus 40 (SV40), a known promoter in vaccines. This DNA virus present in both the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines can cause cancer in animals. He ultimately expressed concern over the fact that no one is talking about the SV40 protein and warned that this deliberate refusal to acknowledge this contaminant was intentional. Last December, Ladapo sent a letter to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Mandy Cohen. His Dec. 6 letter asked the two officials if there have been risk assessments of the vaccine DNA integrating into human DNA, given the SV40 revelation. Moreover, he also asked if the current levels of DNA residuals in the COVID-19 injections are acceptable under the FDA’s standards.
Prominent officials at the FDA disagreed, including Dr. Peter Marks, director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER). Marks replied to Ladapo’s letter on Dec. 14, saying there were no genes for SV40 proteins and that the COVID-19 vaccines do not contain any SV40 proteins. DNA integration “is quite implausible,” said the FDA scientist, adding that animal studies show “no evidence for genotoxicity.”
Ladapo found Marks’ reply unsatisfactory, expressing the belief that the CBER director is intentionally dodging the question with his “lengthy responses.” The FDA scientist did not mention if any tests would assess if DNA integration is indeed occurring. According to the Sunshine State’s top doctor, it would be careless not to test for DNA integration, a potential risk once DNA enters the cell.
“Their position is, ‘Oh, no, it’s fine. Everything’s fine; safe and effective,'” said Ladapo. He also criticized the FDA’s response as lacking and “completely unacceptable.” This reason, he told Jekielek, is why he made that determination – something he insists is the right thing to do.
