With mere weeks remaining before President Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) vaccines hit the market, leftists everywhere, including Rep. Donna Shalala (D-Fl.), are lining up to announce that they have suddenly become anti-vaxxers.
Shalala, who used to head up the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), told Joy Reid of MSNBC‘s “The ReidOut” that there is no chance whatsoever that she will get vaccinated for the Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) because Trump is president.
“No, absolutely not,” was Shalala’s response when asked by Reid, “Would you allow yourself to be injected with a vaccine that Donald Trump had anything to do with?”
Reid had just gotten finished lambasting the president for stating during a recent press conference that the White House will have the ultimate say as to whether or not the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is allowed to impose last-minute “stricter guidelines” pertaining to its emergency approval of Trump’s Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) vaccines.
“Congresswoman, presidents don’t approve vaccines,” Reid chided concerning Trump’s response to a reporter that the White House “may or may not” allow the FDA to rearrange the emergency approval schedule.
“It’s not part of the job description,” Reid added. “So, what do you make of this sort of authoritarian, I, myself, get to approve this?”
Shalala responded to this part of Reid’s line of questioning that the American public “doesn’t trust that this vaccine will be safe and effective now.”
“What the FDA is doing is putting a process in place to try to get that public trust back,” Shalala explained about the FDA’s alleged motivations. “And Donald Trump is doing the opposite,” she added, “undercutting science, politicizing the process. It is dangerous and people are going to die because of it. And it’s really outrageous.”
The hilarious irony of Shalala’s pearl-clutching with regards to Trump’s statement that the White House will have the final say on how quickly Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) vaccines come to market is that she was the one pushing back in April for the jabs to be fast-tracked.
As you may recall from our earlier coverage – we like to keep track of these things, even if the mainstream media refuses to do so – Shalala signed on to a Democrat-led initiative that aimed to replace the normal clinical trial process with a so-called “challenge trial,” which would have deliberately infected healthy young people with the Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) in order to test vaccines on them.
The purpose of this challenge trial was to fast-track approval for a Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) vaccine, which is exactly what Trump is trying to do with Operation Warp Speed. Because Trump got on board, however, Shalala and her colleagues have shifted their narrative and are now against a fast-tracked vaccine, or any vaccine for that matter, that is released under Trump’s presidency.
This makes Shalala a certifiable anti-vaxxer, along with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, both of whom have likewise indicated that they are anti-vaccine due to Trump’s presidency.
Suddenly there is widespread concern about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines with Trump in charge, even though we were long told before he was in the White House that vaccines are bipartisan and apolitical. All vaccines, no matter who was president, were 100 percent safe and effective, the narrative went.
My oh my, how things change. If there is one thing Trump is good at, it is exposing the hypocrites for the world to see. This writer is starting to wonder if there are even going to be any Wuhan coronavirus (covid-19) vaccines at all, or if this whole thing was a ruse to out the left as crooks and frauds.
