At least 55 people in the United States have died after receiving a Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, according to reports submitted to a federal system.
The data came from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a federal program that collects information regarding adverse effects that occur after the administration of vaccines. VAERS is a passive system, which means that the program does not automatically collect reports; instead, affected individuals – patients, family members, physicians and other healthcare workers and providers – must file them.
According to VAERS’ own website, the reports submitted to the system represent only a small fraction of actual adverse events. However, underreporting is believed to be less common for serious events. This means that while only 55 people were reported to have died because of coronavirus vaccines, there are potentially dozens more out there suffering from adverse reactions.
The vaccine-related deaths occurred among people who received the Moderna and the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines. According to VAERS, many of them died within just a few days of being vaccinated.
One of the dead was Gregory Michael, a 56-year-old physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, who received his first shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Dec. 18 and died 16 days later after suddenly developing a rare blood disorder.
“He was a pro-vaccine advocate,” wrote his wife in a Facebook post, “that is why he got it himself.”
“I believe that people should be aware that side effects can happen, that it is not good for everyone, and in this case destroyed a beautiful life, a perfect family and has affected so many people in the community. Do not let his death be in vain, please save more lives by making this information news.”
Another person who died was a 66-year-old senior home resident in Colorado, who became unresponsive two days after receiving a Moderna vaccine. The VAERS reports stated that he “was observed in bed lying still, pale, eyes half open and foam coming from [his] mouth and unresponsive.”
Another case involved a 93-year-old man from South Dakota who received the first shot of his Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Jan. 4 at around 11 a.m. Two hours later, he started feeling very tired. After he was taken back to his room, he stopped breathing. Healthcare workers did not attempt to revive him because he had a do-not-resuscitate order.
In addition to these and many other deaths, there have been at least 96 life-threatening events linked to COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as 24 permanent disabilities. Furthermore, 225 people have been hospitalized following their vaccinations, and 1,388 people have had emergency room visits.
As of Jan. 15, around 10.5 million Americans have received at least the first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine. Federal health officials and big pharma higher-ups continue to insist that while they are investigating the adverse events, no credible evidence has been presented to suggest that the coronavirus vaccines are unsafe.
“Any reports of death following the administration of vaccines are promptly and rigorously investigated,” said Abigail Capobianco, a spokeswoman for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“These are safe and effective vaccines. We have good data to show that,” said Nancy Messonnier, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.
Health officials working for VAERS have also attempted to join the chorus, stating that just because somebody submitted a report does not mean that the death was caused by the vaccine. Pfizer officials, meanwhile, have said that they are closely monitoring all adverse events in individuals receiving their vaccine.

The United States isn’t the only country dealing with COVID-19 vaccine deaths. In Norway, the Norwegian Medicines Agency (NWA) has reported that at least 23 people have died after receiving their first dose. Of those deaths, 13 were residents of nursing homes and were at least 80 years old. Health officials said that the vaccine caused side effects that led to their deaths.
Dr. Sigurd Hortemo, one of Norway’s top public health officials and chief physician at the NWA, said in a press release that some of the COVID-19 vaccine’s side effects, such as fever and nausea, may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail patients. The NWA has not specifically stated that the vaccines caused the fatalities, but they are also not ruling out the possibility.
In response to the nearly two dozen deaths, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health has sent out a cautionary memo telling the country’s health services to consider not providing vaccines to the country’s elderly population.
“For those with the most severe frailty, even relatively mild vaccine side effects can have serious consequences,” read the memo. “For those who have a very short remaining life span anyway, the benefit of the vaccine may be marginal or irrelevant.” (Related: VACCINE EUGENICS: Elderly Americans should not be first in line for COVID-19 vaccine because they’re “too white,” claim medical experts.)
According to Norwegian officials, the memo does not mean the elderly should not get vaccinated, but that they should exercise caution, especially if they are ill.
As of press time, Norway had administered the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to about 33,000 people.
